 Past Experience

Musicbed & Filmsupply

2014-2021

Content Manager

Managing blogs for both brands, I owned the content creation process from start to finish. With insight from our customer engagement and marketing team, I established the topics, direction, tone, and subjects we featured on the blog. I managed the process of coordinating interviews, receiving brand approvals, obtaining creative assets, and the artistic decisions for each blog layout. I proofed and edited articles regularly, and wrote complete articles as needed. I partnered with my team to optimize the content our brands produced across multiple channels, and used performance insights to continue producing high-quality articles that educated, inspired, and developed the careers of filmmakers around the world.

In 2017 I directed and produced our company’s first major event for filmmakers: Film + Music Conference. We completely transformed our city’s art center, and over 400 filmmakers from around the world attended a weekend filled with keynote speakers, hands-on breakout sessions hosted in local art museums, musical concerts, and film premieres. It was such a success that we hosted the conference again in 2018.

I also coordinated the publishing of five volumes of Film + Music Magazine (a design-centered coffee table book for filmmakers), aided in the development, production, and distribution of film content, managed our booth experiences and VIP events in Vegas during NAB Show, and helped manage sponsors, partners, and press for large-scale campaigns.

Marketing Operations Manager

Before transitioning to the role of content manager, I worked as a marketing manager for both Musicbed and Filmsupply. I was in the weeds building out project briefs, working through campaign strategies, and scheduling future projects. I was a departmental liaison, a team development and healthy culture champion, and a department representative for our third-party vendors like print, press outlets or digital advertising agencies. I have worn all kinds of hats, and over the years have served our team through a range of responsibilities like scheduling emails and writing social media posts, to setting up office hospitality and serving drinks at HQ events.

Our marketing & creative team has launched dozens of campaigns, and even won some awards (including a D&AD pencil!). But it’s the in-between days that are my favorite. The days with long hours and longer task lists. Days with curve balls and a need for collaboration. It’s those days I see their creativity, diligence, and grace-filled flexibility. Being part of a team you admire: it’s better than all the launch days and awards combined.

Creative Manager at CFN & CFN Institute

2013-2014

As a graphic designer on the team, I primarily managed all designer’s work loads in our project management software. I built a unique work request process for each of our internal clients, and owned the strategy and logistics of projects — ensuring they happened on time and under budget. I also met with department heads regularly to better understand their needs and long-term goals, and regularly presented our team’s work in conference room setting.

Instructor, Technician, and Sales at Apple

2011-2014

My role at Apple emphasized customer experience and service. During my time spent in two different store locations I worked as a concierge for the front door and Genius Bar, a creative instructor for workshops and one-on-ones, and a technician at the Genius Bar for iOS and mobile devices (with a little Mac triage thrown in for good measure). I have great stories thanks to this job.

Creative Partner at Tidewater Creative

2011-2012

A creative firm founded to assist local businesses in branding and strategy, I joined as a creative partner in the early days of the firm. My role on a small team required me to own the creative process from start to finish, including meeting with clients, working with printers and vendors, executing on design concepts, and pitching to a client.

Interim Creative Director at HIS1040

2010-2011

I was approached by His1040 at a time when they had recently lost their Creative Director. I wasn’t able to commit to more than a year of work at the time, but during my time there was able to help craft a marketing strategy, build their website, develop a social media presence, and create necessary communicate collateral to raise support for humanitarian aid workers around the world.

Freelance Creative and Brand Strategist

2008-Present

I don't remember playing “house” as a little girl more than I remember playing “business”. I dreamed of the day I’d be able to own my own business. As soon as I got my hands on Adobe’s Creative Suite (CS2, to be exact), I started designing logos, print collateral, and even websites for anyone that would let me. As I began to work in the creative industry I found myself gravitating towards supporting small businesses with brand strategy and developing holistic creative solutions to support their goals. While I've worked for larger companies, my favorite work has always been bringing the dreams of small business owners to life.
